Map of the area we cover.  A vast area from Guinea to Mauritania but relatively easy to negotiate. A day to get to Dakar, St Louis, Tambacounda or Ziguinchor. Two days to Nouakchott, Bissau and beyond. Georgetown is also a long day's drive despite seeming to be not far. A six hour drive and a ferry at Banjul make this a long but easy day. The new north bank road is near completion and makes this a far better journey than has been the case since the south bank road fell into disrepair.

Georgetown is about 200 miles in-land following the river Gambia. That's about 300km driving on the right hand side of the road. Another 100 miles and your into Senegal on your way to Tambacounda and the Nikola Koba national park. Mali is a short trip from here as is Guinea to the south.
